LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
_____________
Welcome to On the Pitch, a regular publication of our consulting firm, Metre22, containing insights, points of view and thought provoking perspectives on all things strategy, technology and leadership. At Metre22, our folks love business and business success. It is one of the reasons that we do what we do. Working side-by-side with our clients, and more importantly collaborating with the people who comprise these clients to navigate challenging business situations, is uniquely rewarding.
One of the great things about consulting is that our teams get to interact with different kinds of leaders, organizations and industries. We get exposed to a variety of business models and technologies. Even geographies. Whether we are working for mid-market companies or larger enterprises, diving head first into health care, manufacturing or retail, or working in North America or Europe, one thing is constant: we learn something from each and every interaction.
This publication is about sharing some of those learnings. This particular issue is about sharing what we have learned from our involvement in more than 100 merger and acquisition situations. Navigating a merger or acquisition is one of the most challenging, messy and dynamic leadership situations an executive can tackle. Our hope is that the perspectives contained in this issue of On the Pitch will make your situation a little less challenging and a lot less messy… or at least help you embrace the messiness as you work toward your business goals.
Enjoy. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and share your comments or your own perspectives. We love to learn.
